In brief
In the Bundesliga Klassiker at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, Borussia Dortmund forced a 2‑2 draw with a 89th‑minute goal from Fabio Silva. Bayern Munich, despite early prospects, saw key players injured and missed a penalty. Both teams finish unbeaten at 18 points.
In a dramatic weekend clash on Saturday at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, Fabio Silva’s late 89th‑minute strike gave Borussia Dortmund a 2‑2 draw against Bayern Munich, denying the German champions a win in the Bundesliga Klassiker.
Michael Olise opened the scoring for Bayern, his header striking the post after ten minutes. Dortmund steadily found rhythm, and Jobe Bellingham’s effort was rejected by goalkeeper Jonas Urbig. Bayern’s second‑half surge saw Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry suffer injuries that forced them off the pitch.
Berl also found its footing early: a 34th‑minute attempt by Bellingham was ruled offside after a VAR check. Shortly after, Konrad Laimer capitalised on a pass from Felix Nmecha and Alex Olise to equalise.
Bayern’s pressure kept alight as goalkeeper Gregor Kobel produced a fine save against Laimer, and Kane’s penalty claim for Nmecha’s handball in the 56th minute was denied. Dortmund reacted with a quick counter‑attack that sent Serhou Guirassy to the net.
Joshua Kimmich’s precise pass to Kane allowed Dayot Upamecano to finish close‑range, with Kane subsequently striking the post again. In stoppage time, a substitute from Bayern, Lennart Karl, hit the crossbar, leaving the score 2‑2.
“We played a decent game. We were good in the first half, and in the second half we rewarded ourselves and pressed well. Bayern had chances with the penalty and hit the woodwork three times, but overall, it was a good performance from us,” Dortmund captain Nico Schlotterbeck told reporters after the match.
Both sides remain unbeaten, sitting on 18 points from eight games; Bayern top the table on goal difference. Elsewhere, Freiburg rallied past Augsburg 2‑1 to sit third, Leipzig climbed to fourth with a 2‑0 victory at Schalke, Werder Bremen moved into fifth after a 2‑0 win over Hoffenheim, and Stuttgart topped Leverkusen with a 4‑2 triumph. Bottom‑placed Borussia Mönchengladbach drew 0‑0 with Paderborn.
