Nuremberg, Germany — The 2026 International Exhibition of New Applications (iENA) opened on Saturday, presenting almost 600 inventions from more than 20 countries, with an emphasis on green technologies and artificial intelligence, Xinhua reports.
A staggering 98 percent of the showcased devices, according to the event organizers, were revealed to the public for the first time in Nuremberg, signifying a major influx of novel concepts for the market.
Key areas on display include environmental protection, energy technologies, mobility solutions, electrical engineering, information technology, and educational tools. AI features prominently across the exhibit and the accompanying program.
Excerpting from the event’s managing director, Henning Koenicke, "iENA provides an opportunity to connect with research partners and companies that can help bring inventions to market," a speaker said while outlining the city’s intent to promote collaborative discovery.
The fair will continue for three days, after which the organizers plan an Innovation Congress scheduled for Nov. 2. The conference is set to address topics such as artificial intelligence and collaborative innovation, but the specific agenda and speaker list remain unannounced.
Founded in 1948, the exhibition has long aimed to facilitate the presentation of cutting‑edge ideas to both industry and the public, helping inventors test concepts and secure feedback from potential users, Xinhua added.
