Yung Filly Acquitted of Rape Charges After Australian Incident
UK rapper Yung Filly was found not guilty of three counts of rape after a trial which followed an alleged assault in a Perth nightclub in 2024.
The YouTuber—real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos—was accused of sexually assaulting a 20‑year‑old woman in his hotel room following a performance in Hillarys, a coastal suburb of Perth. The case escalated to the Queensland Criminal Court where a jury cleared him of those three rape charges on Friday.
However, the jury could not reach consensus on three other counts of sexual penetration, leaving those charges unresolved. The court also found Barrientos not guilty of an assault occasioning bodily harm and a strangulation charge, but did convict him of two assaults.
Under the terms of the post‑trial ruling, Barrientos will remain on bail with his sentencing scheduled for 21 August. Prosecutors will decide whether to pursue the remaining hung‑jury allegations.
Beyond the in‑court drama, the 30‑year‑old social‑media star is best known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad, appearances on "Bake Off: The Professionals," and presenting shows on BBC Three.
