Searing Storm: Tornado Swirls Through Hubei, Killing 11

At least 11 people have lost their lives after a rare tornado struck the cities of Ezhou and Huanggang in China's Hubei province. State media reported that the violent storm swept through the region, leaving thousands of buildings damaged and over 300 residents injured.

According to videos that circulated online, residents witnessed glass shards and debris levitating in the sky, as one student told BBC that he expected a normal thunderstorm until he saw objects “flying through the air outside” the dormitory window.

The tornado was a surprise for a region that had not seen such a violent storm since 2021. Local authorities are conducting rescue operations and providing relief amid the damage.
