Nepa Army Rescues Survivors from Hydropower Tunnel
The Nepa Army has begun a rescue operation in Rasuwa, liberating survivors trapped in a hydropower tunnel during recent floods.
More than 100 people are estimated to have been entombed under mud and debris.
Footage released by the prime minister’s office shows soldiers carrying survivors and navigating deep mud to reach others.
The operation is part of nationwide efforts amid a deadly flood that has brought the death toll to 475.
Rescue teams are working under worsening conditions to extricate trapped civilians as the country battles widespread damage.
