The incident occurred at the Hotel Danieli at around 19:00 local time, as Borella reportedly collapsed in front of his colleagues while preparing for a scene. Emergency medical services were called to the location, but sadly, they were unable to revive him. A spokesperson from Paramount Television Studios expressed their devastation over the loss, confirming Borella's sudden passing and extending condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Following the incident, production on the fifth season of 'Emily in Paris' was temporarily halted. The series, which debuted in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, stars Lily Collins and follows the adventures of an American marketing executive in Paris. Season four premiered in 2024 and saw the character Emily move to Rome, with the fifth season expected to air later this year.
