ICE Agent Accused of Pointing Gun at Woman in Virginia – Video Confirmation

A video that has gathered millions of views shows a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer raising a firearm toward Carolina Molina, a woman delivering business cards in Falls Church, Virginia.

Molina posted the clip to Instagram after the officers surrounded her vehicle. Subsequent tweets from Homeland Security portrayed her as "attempting to harm officers by weaponising her vehicle," a claim she denies. The Department’s statement suggests a contested narrative about the encounter.

BBC Verify undertook a line-by-line review of the dashcam footage supplied by Molina, cross‑referencing timestamps, audio cues and the officer’s hand movement. The analysis indicated that the video is authentic, showing no obvious manipulation.

The incident has prompted calls for clearer guidelines on the use of force by ICE agents, especially in low‑risk situations. It also illustrates the role of user‑generated footage in shaping real‑time news coverage.
