TUNIS, Tunisia (RTW News) — An international activist flotilla seeking to challenge the Israeli blockade of Gaza announced on Wednesday that it was attacked for the second night in a row. The Global Sumud Flotilla reported that its British-flagged vessel, 'Alma,' was struck by a drone while docked in Tunisian waters. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported among the crew. Security camera footage shared by the group showed panic on board as crew members shouted for help and pointed towards the sky.

Fire projectiles fell on the ship’s deck, igniting a blaze. The attack mimicked an earlier incident involving the Portuguese-flagged 'Family' vessel, which was similarly targeted. Tunisian authorities refuted claims that drones had caused this first attack, stating that they are conducting an investigation into the matter. Following the latest incident, there has been no immediate comment from Israeli officials either.

The flotilla, which comprises approximately 20 boats, began its journey from Barcelona, Spain on September 1, carrying a symbolic cargo of humanitarian aid, and intended to stop in Tunisia before proceeding towards Gaza. Activists expressed that these repeated attacks not only underscore the dangers faced during their mission but are also indicative of intensified Israeli actions against Palestinians. They vowed to continue their quest undeterred.

As tensions escalate in the region, the focus remains on the flotilla's ongoing mission and the safety of its members.
