Russian General Killed in Scooter-Bomb Explosion in Moscow

In a shocking incident, Lt Gen Igor Kirillov, a high-ranking officer in charge of Russia's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces, has been killed in a scooter bomb explosion in Moscow.

In a tragic turn of events, Lt Gen Igor Kirillov, the head of the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces (NBC) of the Russian military, lost his life in a deadly explosion as he was leaving a residential building early Tuesday morning. The bomb, concealed in a scooter parked near the entrance, detonated, killing Kirillov and his aide, as confirmed by Russia's Investigative Committee.

This incident follows the recent imposition of sanctions by the United Kingdom on Kirillov, who has been accused of overseeing the deployment of chemical weapons during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and serving as a significant voice for Kremlin propaganda. Just the day before his death, Ukraine's SBU secret service charged him in absentia, holding him accountable for the widespread use of banned chemical agents.
