Authorities identified the suspect as Michael Paul Brown, describing him as "armed and dangerous." The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center has urged anyone who sees Brown to avoid approaching him and to contact emergency services instead.

The nearby Granite County Sheriff's Office informed the public that the suspect may be wearing a tie-dyed shirt, blue jeans, and an orange bandana.
