US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that Kyiv can win all of Ukraine back in its original form, a notable change in his rhetoric regarding the ongoing conflict with Russia. In a post shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump mentioned that Ukraine could reclaim the territories it lost since the start of the war, leveraging the support from European nations and NATO due to the economic troubles currently plaguing Russia.

This statement was made following discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly in New York. While Trump has consistently shown interest in ending the conflict, his previous warnings suggested that Ukraine might have to yield some land, a notion that President Zelensky has firmly opposed.

In his recent comments, Trump also hinted that Ukraine might be able to achieve even more than just regaining its original borders but did not elaborate on this point. Notably, there was no mention of Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014 amidst the escalations of the war.

Trump attributed his new perspective to a more in-depth understanding of the military and economic situation between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble and stressed that this moment presents a significant opportunity for Ukraine to act.

During his UN address, Trump suggested that NATO nations should seriously consider taking action against Russian aircraft that violate their airspace, following several incidents involving Russia breaching the airspace of Estonia and Poland.

Although he praised NATO for increasing defense spending, Trump indicated that US support for shooting down Russian planes would depend on the circumstances.

His recent post reflects a shift from previous declarations made earlier in the year when he had indicated the desperate situation Ukraine found itself in. Trump previously implied negotiations with Russia might require Ukraine to swap or cede territories, a requirement that was met with skepticism by Zelensky.

This latest commentary signals an effort from Trump to influence the stagnant peace negotiations and reassert his support for Ukraine's military ambitions, contrasting with the more open-ended commitment provided by the Biden administration.
