Authorities seize 72 kilos of cocaine linked to an organized crime group in a significant operation in County Kildare.
In a coordinated effort, gardaí (Irish police) conducted a stop and search operation in the Allenwood area on Wednesday, which led to the seizure of roughly 72kg of cocaine. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of two men in their 50s and 60s, believed to have been involved in facilitating drug distribution networks for an organized crime group. Following their arrest, the men have been charged and are set to appear before Naas District Court on Thursday.
Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis of the Organised and Serious Crime unit remarked on the drug bust, labeling it as a "significant seizure of cocaine destined for the Irish market."
