Final Farewell: Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath to Reunite for One Last Concert

Heavy metal legends prepare for a fundraising festival in Birmingham on July 5, featuring an iconic lineup.

In a historic move for heavy metal fans, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath are set to reunite for a final concert in Birmingham on July 5, marking a significant moment for the original band members. This one-day festival, aptly titled "Back To The Beginning," will take place at Villa Park, showcasing numerous bands heavily influenced by the earliest pioneers of heavy metal, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax.

Osbourne, 76, has faced ongoing health challenges related to Parkinson's disease and spinal injuries, limiting his ability to tour. However, he is committed to delivering a short solo performance ahead of joining his bandmates for what they promise will be a memorable event. His wife, Sharon, has expressed her enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing that it serves as an essential closure for Osbourne. "Ozzy didn't have a chance to say goodbye… This is his full stop," Sharon stated.

The concert will feature not only Black Sabbath's original lineup, consisting of Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, but also an array of musical stars including Tom Morello, who will serve as the event's musical director. The proceeds from the concert will benefit notable charities like Cure Parkinson's and Birmingham Children's Hospital. This one-time reunion not only aims to deliver spectacular live music but also to make a profound impact on the community.

Set against the backdrop of Villa Park, where Black Sabbath held its first rehearsal in 1968, the concert represents a significant reunion for a band long considered the inventors of heavy metal. Their official farewell concert back in 2017 was attended by thousands, reaffirming the band's lasting legacy and connection with fans. As Osbourne gears up for what he declares to be his final show, anticipation is building for an unforgettable night celebrating one of rock music's most influential bands.
