Milan Honors Giorgio Armani with an Emotional Finale at Fashion Week

Celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and Richard Gere gathered in Milan to attend the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 collection show, the final collection the iconic designer worked on before his death earlier this month.

The showcase, initially intended to celebrate 50 years of fashion greatness, transformed into a heartfelt tribute following the passing of the beloved designer at the age of 91. Set against the backdrop of the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, the event highlighted more than 120 of Armani's remarkable creations.

Models who had graced his runways over the last five decades returned to present a collection filled with classic suits and dazzling dresses. The color palette featured soft neutrals and vibrant tones reflecting elements of light, earth, and sea—sources of inspiration for Armani throughout his storied career.

Blanchett remarked on the moment's significance, stating, This atmosphere speaks for itself. There's a lot of memories here tonight, acknowledging Armani's impact in fashion and beyond.

The final piece showcased was a striking blue gown worn by one of Armani's favored models, Agnese Zogla, which featured a subtle image of the designer's face, evoking a standing ovation from the audience of over 700 guests. The collection, according to the brand, symbolizes the closure of a style era, paving the way for new beginnings.

In addition to the fashion show, attendees were invited to explore the exhibition 'Giorgio Armani: Milano, Per Amore,' featuring classic outfits including Gere's suit from the iconic 1980 film, American Gigolo.

The evening was accompanied by live piano music from renowned Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, further enhancing the atmosphere of remembrance and celebration.

Milan Fashion Week concluded on a poignant note, not only recognizing the beauty and artistry of Armani's work but also the indelible mark he left on the fashion world.
