Dandy Krazy, a celebrated figure in Zambian music, succumbs to injuries from a car accident in Kapiri Mposhi, prompting nationwide tributes including one from President Hakainde Hichilema.


Renowned Zambian musician Dandy Krazy, known for his significant contributions to the music scene, tragically passed away at the age of 47 due to injuries sustained in a car accident on New Year's Eve. The musician, whose real name was Wesley Chibambo, was involved in a collision while driving in the Kapiri Mposhi area of Zambia, which also involved a truck and another vehicle.

The accident resulted in three fatalities at the scene, and despite prompt medical attention that took him to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka for emergency surgery, Dandy Krazy succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Thursday.

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema expressed heartfelt condolences and tribute to the late artist, describing him as "extraordinary" and highlighting the impact of his music, which resonated across boundaries and united many. “His music and charisma touched lives far and wide," Hichilema penned in a poignant Facebook post.

This sudden loss has reverberated throughout Zambia, with fans and fellow artists mourning the departure of a beloved figure whose legacy and influence will be remembered for years to come.
