In brief
Early Friday, an Israeli helicopter fired a missile at an apartment in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, wounding two Palestinians. The strike adds to a pattern of demolitions, artillery, and gunfire by Israel in the Gaza Strip, with Gaza's Health Ministry reporting over 1,500 killed and nearly 6,000 wounded since the ceasefire began.
Early Friday, a helicopter missile strike on a residential apartment in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City left two Palestinians wounded, sources told the Anadolu Agency.
The strike, carried out by an Israeli helicopter, reportedly fired at least one missile at the building, causing minor injuries but no fatalities according to medical and local witnesses.
In addition to the airstrike, the Israeli army conducted extensive house demolitions east of Al‑Masdar and heavy artillery shelling in the central Gaza Strip, with witnesses noting the destruction of abandoned structures and a loud explosion heard across wide areas.
Local accounts also record that Israeli military vehicles fired heavy gunfire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in the Qizan al‑Najjar and Jorat al‑Lut areas south of Khan Younis, although no injuries were reported from this round of gunfire.
These incidents underscore ongoing violations of the ceasefire that has been in effect since October 2025. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that Israeli actions have killed 1,574 Palestinians and wounded 5,687 others as of Thursday.
Since the conflict resumed in October 2023, the war in Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, injured over 175,000, and destroyed around 90% of civilian infrastructure, the ministry’s figures show.
