Financial reports show Trump earned more than $1 bn in the first year of his presidency, according to a mandatory 927‑page disclosure for 2025.
The bulk of the earnings stemmed from cryptocurrency ventures. Trump claimed $635 m in royalties from a Trump meme‑coin launched three days before he took office, and an additional $500 m from a crypto firm, World Liberty Financial, founded by his sons and Steve Witkoff’s children.
He also received millions from his real‑estate franchise: $77 m from Mar‑a‑Lago, $122 m from the Doral golf club, and over $30 m from clubs in Bedminster, Jupiter and Turnberry. Other sources included $4.7 m in royalties from Trump‑branded watches and other merchandise, and over $11 m from settlements of legal actions across ABC, CBS, Meta, YouTube and X.
Trump’s first‑time admission of crypto profits follows a decade‑long push from Democrats and mainstream media to scrutinize his wealth. White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly dismissed these concerns, claiming “the President has proudly made the U.S. the crypto capital of the world.”
The disclosure also listed First Lady Melania Trump’s 2025 income, including $10.7 m from a license agreement for her documentary and $6 m from NFT sales.
Trump’s 2025 earnings surpassed his 2024 totals, which exceeded $600 m. The White House reiterated that all proceeds are funneled through a trust managed by his sons and claims no conflict of interest has arisen from his business dealings.
The revelations underscore the significant role of cryptocurrency in Trump’s business portfolio, raising questions about the intersection of political power and digital asset revenues in the United States.
