Andrew and Tristan Tate were escorted into a Miami courthouse to begin extradition proceedings that could send them back to the United Kingdom. Lawyers for the brothers argue the charges are politically motivated and aim to block the extradition. The Crown Prosecution Service cites new evidence from Bedfordshire Police covering alleged offenses from 2010 to 2017, including rape and sex‑trafficking. A second hearing is set for 27 July, with the final decision pending on the U.S. administration.

Extradition Hearing in Miami

On Monday, Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in a federal courthouse to begin the extradition process that could send them back to the United Kingdom to face 59 charges.

Their lawyers promised to fight the extradition, calling the UK accusations a “political kidnapping” and likening the case to a broad “witch hunt.”

The Crown Prosecution Service says the charges stem from new evidence supplied by Bedfordshire Police and cover alleged offenses from 2010 to 2017, including rape, sex‑trafficking and recruiting women for sex work.

Both brothers, who hold dual British and US citizenship, are currently held in a Florida jail after departing Romania following the lifting of a travel ban there.

The next hearing is scheduled for 27 July; the final decision will rest with the US administration, though the law firm estimates the process could last around 60 days.
