Somali Pirates Kill Oil Tanker Crew Before Rescue, Official Reports

Five crew members aboard the MT Hoarner 25 were killed when pirates seized the 18,500-barrel tanker off the Somali coast.

Puntland Deputy Information Minister Bile Qabowsade confirmed the deaths and said local security forces boarded the vessel after the attack.

The dead comprised three Pakistanis, an Indian and a Myanmar national, with four others injured.

Police are pursuing the six exposed pirates and have detained sixteen suspects.
