Lizzo’s former wardrobe assistant, Asha Daniels, filed a lawsuit in September 2023 accusing the production company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. of degradation, forced physical labor, denied medical care, sexual harassment and racial harassment.
Federal Judge Fernando L. Aenlle‑Rocha dismissed those claims, ruling that only the company could be sued and that the alleged conduct, while “unprofessional,” fell outside the scope of protected workplace harassment.
In the wake of the ruling, the Grammy‑winning artist posted on Instagram, saying she was “relieved” and would continue to fight every claim made against her and her businesses.
Daniels’ lawsuit followed a separate suit by three former tour dancers, which Lizzo’s team has denied. The singer thanked her lawyers in the post and pledged to spread positivity while defending her name and reputation.
