Teen sensation Lil Nas X told fans in a three‑minute Instagram video that he is "doing much better" after a mental‑health crisis that culminated in his arrest last August.

He said he had spent several months in rehab, then moved back to Atlanta to be with family. This is the first major update since his August incident, when he was charged for walking the streets in Los Angeles in the nude and allegedly assaulting police officers.

A judge allowed 27‑year‑old Montero Hill to enter a mental‑health programme, a move that could see the charges dismissed. The judge noted his behaviour at the time of the arrest was "aberrant from his normal conduct" and referenced his forthcoming bipolar diagnosis.

The artist admitted the diagnosis had been long overdue, adding that he had not wanted to seek medication because of how others would perceive him.

In the clip, Hill appeared healthy, looking out into a clear blue sky, and spoke from prepared notes. He expressed that he's now feeling less fear in his heart and has been "creating freely".

He thanked his fans, saying, "We've been through so much together. Thank you guys for holding me down. I love you and all I want to do is continue to try to make you proud and make myself proud."

Hill also noted he isn’t ready to return to the spotlight just yet but promised new music is on the way. He finished by encouraging fans to keep supporting him as he works toward his next release.
