Night scene on a country road with several police cars
Forensic testing revealed that what police initially thought was a woman’s body was actually a lifelike doll – ABC News

Alice Sydney police investigated a suitcase that initially seemed to hold a body. The find was reported near Oallen, about 230 km south‑west of Sydney.

Forensic tests confirmed the contents were not human. “The doll is extremely realistic in appearance,” said Supervisor Linda Bradbury of the Hume Police District.

The container contained a doll wearing clothes, hair, a nose piercing and markings resembling bruises and grazes, the police said. The investigation was closed once the evidence proved the items were inanimate.

Bradbury thanked the two men who discovered the suitcase for reporting the unremarkable find, describing it as “shocking” yet relieved that the matter was resolved. Police remain available for further inquiries about the incident.
