Eight killed in Russian missile strike on Ukraine, including three children

On 30 July 2026 Ukrainian officials confirmed a Russian ballistic missile and drone attack on the village of Radushne, near Kryvyi Rih, killed eight people – a six‑year‑old girl, two boys (11 and 17) and an 84‑year‑old woman – after the missile hit a home where a large family lived.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow fired more than 70 missiles and over 280 drones overnight, calling the strike near his hometown the worst it had seen.

The attack comes amid Zelensky’s recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, where he urged Washington to issue a licence for Patriot interceptor missiles, noting that the system is critical to Ukraine’s defence.

In neighbouring Poland a 10‑m crater in a field east of the border was identified as likely caused by a Russian Kh‑101 ballistic missile; Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the site would be investigated further.

Casualties were also reported in Kyiv, Poltava, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities, with fires in non‑residential buildings and several injuries.
