Ariana Grande Sues Hackers Over Leaked Unreleased Music

Pop star Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit against two unnamed hackers who allegedly stole and leaked hundreds of her unreleased tracks and studio footage, claiming the breaches took place over several years.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, says the hackers targeted photographers and producers connected to Grande to access material that was for sale on the dark web for “significant sums of money.”

En 2023 alone, the complaint alleges, 45 of her unreleased songs were hacked, stolen and leaked. Since her 2011 debut, similar leaks have repeatedly harmed her work.

Grande’s lawyers are seeking the identities of the hackers and are suing for invasion of privacy, violation of California computer‑hacking laws and conversion. They claim the malicious intrusion caused her irreversible harm.

She revealed in a 2024 interview that a song called “Fantasize,” written with Swedish pop savant Max Martin, went viral after a leak, and used strong language to describe the “pirates.”

The legal complaint outlines a pattern of hacking: in 2025, an attacker accessed a producer’s mobile device to obtain unreleased masters and footage; the previous year, a fake email of a photographer convinced a technician to send her unreleased photos.

The suit claims the hackers violated the “sacred relationship” between Grande and her fans. The lawyers say the breach disrupted her career and caused substantial damage.

The filing arrives as Grande prepares to release her eighth studio album, Petal, later this week. She is currently touring worldwide, set to hit the UK in August, and has hinted the shows may be her final gigs for a long period.

In a recent podcast interview, Grande said, “I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. One last hurrah for now.”
