**Florida Woman Posing as Nurse Arrested After Treating Over 4,000 Patients**
A 29-year-old woman is charged with practicing medicine without a license, investigating her time at AdventHealth.
A woman in Florida, Autumn Bardisa, has been arrested for impersonating a registered nurse after treating over 4,486 patients in an alarming case of medical fraud. The investigation began when AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway terminated Bardisa’s contract, raising questions about her qualifications.
Sheriff Rick Staly of Flagler County declared the case to be particularly distressing, emphasizing the potential danger posed to numerous patients. Bardisa, aged 29, worked at AdventHealth from July 2023 until January 2025, during which she allegedly used a false nursing license that did not belong to her, instead claiming it belonged to another registered nurse with a similar name.
After being encouraged to provide her marriage license to justify discrepancies in her application, which she failed to do, Bardisa was reported by a colleague. This occurred after they discovered that her nursing assistant license had expired. Subsequently, a seven-month investigation wrapped up with detectives executing an arrest warrant, charging her with multiple counts of practicing without a license and fraudulent use of personal identification.
She was arrested on August 5 while dressed in scrubs at her home and is currently detained at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility with a bond set at $70,000. Sheriff Staly warned that Bardisa jeopardized thousands of lives and betrayed the trust of patients and their families, as well as the medical community at large. In response to the outraged public, the Sheriff’s office has established a dedicated email address for those who may have received treatment from Bardisa and might want to report their experiences.
