LONDON (RTWNews) — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated Monday that the recent detention of hundreds of South Korean workers at a Hyundai plant in Georgia will not deter investment in the United States. She emphasized that the Trump administration's decisive immigration policies create a predictable environment for businesses.

The detainment of 475 workers, over 300 of whom were South Korean, during the September 4 raid has sparked confusion and outrage among many in the allied nation.

This is a crucial opportunity for us to assure all companies that when they come to the United States, they will know the rules of engagement, Noem remarked at a meeting in London with ministers from the 'Five Eyes' intelligence-sharing partnership, focused on border security.

We encourage all companies wishing to enter the U.S. market to prioritize the employment of U.S. citizens and abide by our laws, she added.

Most of the detained Koreans are set to be deported for violating removal orders, while a few involved in additional criminal activity will face the consequences, Noem confirmed.

Minister Noem, who welcomed ministers from Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, highlighted the ongoing discussions to improve border security, combat organized crime, and expedite extradition processes.

In response to questions about expanding immigration enforcement measures, she reassured that operations are proceeding without delay, underscoring a commitment to national safety.

Noem's comments come amidst increasing governmental efforts in Britain to manage unauthorized migration, particularly concerning migrants crossing the English Channel.
