The decision by former President Donald Trump to pause all US military aid to Ukraine is more than just a setback for Kyiv; it has reverberated across Europe, where allies have been advocating for continuous support from the US administration. This is not an isolated incident; the US has previously withheld military aid, notably when Republicans blocked President Joe Biden's substantial military assistance package in the summer of 2023. Luckily for Ukraine, European nations assisted in maintaining ammunition stocks until Congress approved a critical £60 billion aid package by spring 2024, just before a notable resurgence of Russian offensives in Kharkiv.
