Student Sentenced for Drugging and Raping Multiple Victims in London and China
Zou Zhenhao, a 28-year-old Chinese national, faces sentencing for a heinous crime spree involving at least 10 rapes. Police suspect many more unreported victims.
In a deeply unsettling case, Zou Zhenhao, a 28-year-old Chinese student who was convicted of drugging and raping a minimum of 10 women, is set to be sentenced in London. British authorities have characterized him as "one of the most prolific predators" they have ever encountered, with police investigating the possibility of many more victims yet to be identified. Zou, who was enrolled at University College London, committed these crimes not only in the UK but also in his native China between September 2019 and May 2023.
From Dongguan in China's Guangdong Province, Zou specifically targeted women he met in the student community as well as through various social media and dating platforms. During the investigation, a senior police officer, Commander Kevin Southworth from the Metropolitan Police, revealed the shocking extent of Zou’s actions. He highlighted that Zou utilized a dangerous mixture of drugs to incapacitate these women, which may have affected their memory and left some victims incapable of recalling what transpired.
“There may be some women on those videos who may never be identified,” Southworth explained, noting challenges in retrieving clear imagery and locating victims scattered globally. Following Zou’s conviction, the police are actively encouraging other potential victims to come forward, hoping to provide support and justice to those affected by his appalling acts.
