She reached out to a friend who had a tracking dog, a golden retriever named Kea. The two worked together with the prospect of Kea following A.J.’s scent, leading to a successful reunion just 20 minutes later.

This experience sparked a significant realization for Albrecht: while detection dogs have been utilized for various purposes like drug and bomb detection, there was a glaring absence of trained dogs dedicated to finding lost pets.
