Production has officially commenced on the much-anticipated TV adaptation of the Harry Potter series, with HBO unveiling the first image of lead actor Dominic McLaughlin donning the iconic wizard's costume. This new series aims to give a wider scope to JK Rowling's cherished novels, which previously saw a successful film franchise.
The initial promotional image was revealed Monday, alongside announcements of several new cast members joining the project. Among them are Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson portraying Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey in the role of Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. They will join an impressive lineup that includes John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Nick Frost taking on Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape. The trio of young actors selected for the roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione was disclosed back in May.
Filming will take place at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, known for being the production site for the original Harry Potter films.
