Meghan Markle Launches New Online Shop for Fashion Enthusiasts
Duchess of Sussex showcases her favorite fashion picks through a new online retail platform.
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has embarked on an exciting new venture by launching an online shop where her fans can explore and purchase her favorite clothing, accessories, and jewelry. The announcement came on Monday to her 2.6 million Instagram followers, where she highlighted her 'high-low' style philosophy—a harmonious mix of luxury and accessible fashion that she expressed during her recent Netflix series.
In her post, Meghan included a disclaimer indicating that she would earn a sales commission on certain items sold through affiliate links provided in the shop. The online platform, named ShopMy, is tailored for "elite creators" like Meghan, who can earn commissions of up to 30% for every product sold through their curated links.
Describing her selection as a "handpicked and curated collection of the things I love," the Duchess expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming interest in her wardrobe inspiration over the years. Meghan’s fashion statements have historically led to items selling out rapidly; for instance, a white coat by Canadian brand Line the Label that she wore during her engagement announcement in November 2017 famously crashed the brand's website due to high demand.
In this initial launch, the collection features 32 carefully chosen pieces that embody a capsule wardrobe filled with neutral tones and natural fabrics. Among the offerings are essentials such as a "perfect" white cotton t-shirt, a striped blue "boyfriend" shirt, white linen trousers, and more formal choices like a black wool blazer and an elegant ivory evening dress. Brands represented include popular high-street names such as Theory, Reformation, and J Crew, alongside a mix of both luxury and budget-friendly items.
The ShopMy platform also facilitates opportunities for creators to engage in paid collaborations with over 47,000 brands, enabling them to explore various revenue streams. This latest venture follows the recent success of her Netflix lifestyle show, which presents intimate glimpses into her personal life, social visits, and culinary endeavors.
Meghan previously launched her lifestyle brand, currently known as As Ever, which aims to provide thoughtfully crafted essentials, further establishing her influence in the lifestyle and fashion sectors. Before her royal engagement, she ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig, where she shared insights on beauty, nutrition, fashion, travel, and personal wisdom for nearly three years, ending the blog in April 2017.
