Charges Filed in Connection with Liam Payne's Tragic Death
Three individuals face serious charges following the death of One Direction's Liam Payne in Buenos Aires, according to local authorities.
Three individuals have been charged in connection with the tragic death of One Direction star Liam Payne, Argentinian authorities reported. The 31-year-old singer died on October 16 after reportedly falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires.
The public prosecutor's investigation revealed that one individual accompanying Payne has been charged with abandonment of a person followed by death, along with the supply and facilitation of drugs. Additionally, a hotel employee and a separate third individual face similar charges related to drug supply. The identities of those arrested have not been disclosed to the public.
Payne, recognized globally for his time on The X Factor and his success with the boyband One Direction, was found to have traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant in his system, according to toxicology tests. A post-mortem examination concluded that the cause of death was "multiple trauma" and "internal and external hemorrhage" resulting from the fall.
In the ongoing investigation, authorities have conducted nine raids at various locations in Buenos Aires as they examine Payne's personal belongings, including a broken laptop and other digital devices that were seized in connection with the case.
