KYIV, Ukraine (RTW) — In a poignant display of aftermath following a devastating aerial assault, senior Ukrainian officials led a group of 60 foreign diplomats through the heart of Kyiv's government sector on Monday. This tour occurred just a day after the largest drone attack since the start of the conflict over three years ago, which resulted in significant casualties and property damage.

On Sunday, more than 800 drones were deployed in the attack, marking an escalation in hostilities as negotiations for peace efforts led by the United States seem to stall. Tragically, the assault resulted in the loss of four lives and left charred wreckage in its wake, particularly impacting an iconic government building.

The striking Soviet-style edifice, notable for its half-circle facade, was reportedly hit for the first time during the war, demonstrating the unique nature of this attack. During the tour, key government officials, including Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, displayed the extensive damage caused by the drone strikes to the visiting diplomats.

Prime Minister Svyrydenko condemned the attack as a “clear signal that Russia does not want peace and is openly mocking the diplomatic efforts of the civilized world.” The sentiment among global leaders is urging for stronger economic sanctions against Russia as Ukraine continues to strive for international support amid ongoing assaults.

As diplomatic discussions falter, reports indicate that Russia's military may escalate their drone usage to over 1,000 per day by the end of this year, further intensifying the conflict.
