Disney Treasure Saves Stranded Passengers from Sinking Catamaran

On November 10, the Disney Treasure acted heroically in rescuing four individuals from a sinking catamaran, highlighting the vessel's commitment to safety and assistance at sea.

In a remarkable turn of events, the Disney Treasure, currently en route across the Atlantic, received an urgent distress call from the Serenity, a small 15-meter catamaran that was taking on water about 200 miles from Bermuda. The distress signal prompted the U.S. Coast Guard to issue an emergency alert, and the closest vessel capable of responding was the Disney Treasure, which was approximately 80 miles away at the time.

Under the direction of Captain Marco Nogara, the Disney Treasure, which is slated to make its maiden voyage in December, dispatched a rescue boat. The crew, trained for emergency situations, worked seamlessly to ensure the safe retrieval of the four stranded passengers who were in grave peril as the Serenity struggled with a seal failure around its escape hatch.

"Being able to provide aid to those in peril is a testament to our crew's dedication and readiness," Captain Nogara remarked. The Disney Treasure, a state-of-the-art 340-meter cruise ship, was making its way from Europe to Florida when the incident occurred, demonstrating not only the cruise line's maritime prowess but also its deep-seated responsibility towards safety at sea.
