Beyoncé's Unreleased Tracks Among Items Stolen Ahead of Atlanta Show
Stolen hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music raise concerns for the artist's Cowboy Carter tour.
In a troubling incident just days before her scheduled performances, several valuable items, including unreleased music by Beyoncé, were stolen from a rental car used by her choreographer and dancer. This theft occurred on July 8, right before her four-night Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta.
According to a police report, the hard drives contained unreleased tracks, show plans, and both past and future set lists for the tour, raising significant concerns for the artist and her team. The Atlanta police reported that an arrest warrant has been issued but have not identified the suspect involved.
Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue parked their rented Black Jeep Wagoneer and went to a nearby food hall. Upon returning, they found the rear window smashed and two suitcases missing. Among the stolen items was critical information labeled as "sensitive" for the superstar.
The missing items included "five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased material, and footage plans," as outlined in the police report. Other stolen possessions featured a laptop, designer clothing, and Apple AirPods. Authorities are using tracking data from these electronic devices to pinpoint their location.
Police efforts included collecting fingerprints from the vehicle, but only two very faint prints were discovered. The fate of the stolen items remains uncertain. The BBC has reached out to a representative of Beyoncé for comment but has yet to receive a response.
Beyoncé is currently performing in Atlanta as part of her Cowboy Carter tour, with concerts starting on July 10 and her final show scheduled for Monday night. During her third performance in the city, her husband, rapper Jay Z, made an unexpected appearance.
Grant, the choreographer involved, has worked with globally recognized musicians like Shakira, whereas Blue previously collaborated with Beyoncé for a Super Bowl advertisement in 2024, where she unveiled two singles from her Cowboy Carter album.
